Privacy policy

Calculatto is designed so that we learn as little about you as possible. This page explains what happens to information when you use the site.

What you type into calculators

Every calculation runs inside your browser. The numbers, dates and text you enter are never sent to our servers, never stored by us and never linked to you. When you close or reload the page they are gone.

Data kept on your device

The site uses your browser’s local storage for a few small conveniences: the unit system you last chose (metric or imperial), the calculators you opened recently (names only, never what you entered), and your cookie choice. This stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or the “Clear” button on the home page.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs. It records aggregate, anonymised events such as page views, the referring site, browser type, and country. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not record what you enter into any calculator.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and calculators are used and how people find the site. Google Analytics records page views, approximate location, device and browser information, and the referring site, under Google’s privacy policy. It never receives what you enter into a calculator. We do not use it for advertising.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask before using Google Analytics cookies, and until you choose “Accept” it runs in a cookieless mode that stores nothing on your device. Elsewhere, analytics cookies are on by default. Wherever you are, you can turn them off or on at any time with “Cookie settings” in the site footer.

Cookies

When analytics cookies are on, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) that distinguish visits for up to two years. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. We do not show advertising.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel’s infrastructure may briefly process your IP address and request headers to deliver pages and protect against abuse, under Vercel’s privacy policy.

Contact and suggestions

If you email us or use the suggestion form, we receive what you send along with your email address, and we use it only to reply and to improve the site. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Children

The site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Health calculators are intended for adults.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Questions can be sent to hello@calculatto.com.
